About Zingku
Zingku's mission is to enable individuals and businesses to "mobilize their passion" by leveraging their personal network.
We started in 2005 when we noticed that teenage/twenty something's and their friends were engaging in rich media conversations drawing upon the full reach of mobile text messaging, the immediacy and speed of instant messaging, and thoroughness of web browser interface. A single conversation would take place amidst all these communication channels... often leading to plans for the evening, a purchase down the road, or simply a series of chuckles that passed time.
Concurrently, we saw the arrival of inexpensive "next generation" mobile phones, providing a means to capture and play pictures, words, music, and video. These phones are full fledged production devices sitting in our pockets, allowing us to distribute our "creations" to friends who in turn can distribute to their friends. As we saw folks constantly bouncing media back and forth between their phones, IM, and web browser, it became clear that this manner of dialogue forms a distinct new medium.
Our Zingku service amplifies the capabilities of this new medium, enhancing our collective capacity to promote and share.
Our service
Our service is designed from the mobile phone, outward, allowing you to create and exchange things of interest ranging from invitations to "mobile flyers" with friends in a trusted manner. On the mobile phone, Zingku uses standard text messaging and picture messaging features that come with every phone. On the web, our service uses your standard web browser and instant messenger. There is nothing to install.
With Zingku, things you wish to promote or share, can easily be created and fetched via mobile, instant messenger, and web browser. Our service integrates your mobile phone with a personalized web site so that you can easily move (zing) things back and forth between the web and and your mobile as well as powerfully connect with friends and optionally their friends.
Our approach to sharing
Our service helps you swiftly reach your friends and , when desired, their friends. We have designed the service so that you can selectively make it easy for your friends to pass things along to their friends. We've provided an simple way of managing your inner circles of friends, expecting that you may wish to keep some of things private, yet other things you may want to make available to different groups of friends, or to the whole world.
Shameless commerce
Zingku services are also being made available to "merchants" who wish to reach an audience. Merchants create "mobile flyers" and then publish/email a "zing-code" to their customers who opt to pull the flyer to their mobile phone. The customer can then zing it to those friends who they think may be interested. Our mobile flyers are interactive, can take a recipient through a mobile text and picture messaging journey. As such, 18 - 28 year olds, who have tuned out of email and are tuned in into their mobile, respond far more actively than traditional marketing media.
It's quite polite, and quite effective. Our view of a "merchant" is anyone who has something to promote, whether it be a retailer, a theater promoting a production, a band who has just produced a new EP, a humorist producing snack-size entertainment, or an event organizer of any kind! We are currently working with a range of merchants who are excited by the prospect of connecting with their audience/customers within this new medium.

The Zingku service is currently available as a "private beta". As a private beta user, we are hoping you will invite other friends to explore the service, and we appreciate your early patience.

Send a text message to: 33669. Start your text message with the word zingwish, and then continue with your request. While we are happy to receive wishes for a new friend, free vacation to St. Croix, or a brand new Stihl MS 250 C-BE with Easy2Start™ chainsaw, we will likely be more responsive to wishes regarding the Zingku service.
